Support triggering logic fields from previous questions in inspectionsNew

We are frequently having template situations leading us to desire that logic be able to refer to the answers from previous questions, not just the question we are adding it to.Currently, we are having to put questions in an illogical order, grouped together where questions are out of context just so we can make specific questions appear based on that answer. Or we end up asking that same question again so the template can flow better. Many times, these questions we find the need for this are better suited for the title page, but the follow up questions don’t belong there.

Export inspections from archiveReleased

I have been pushing our sites to Archive completed inspections after they are reviewed to clean up the data on the iPads and make sure old inspections are not edited. One site discovered that from the Archive, they cannot multi-select and export from the Archived Inspections listing. The only option in the archive is to click “View Report” then select PDF or Word. One by one.My suggestion is to duplicate the button on the blue bar at the bottom of the Inspections (Active) listing that states “PDF” with an arrow providing PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, CSV with Media, and JSON options to also be on the Inspections (Archive) listing. We need the ability to export a spreadsheet of the raw data and to download many PDF reports at once from archived inspections too.

Make Reporting Issues Faster and More InformingNew

Our company uses STOP or similar paper cards to report good catches, safety near misses, quality and food safety concerns, damage, etc. A few sites are using a SafetyCulture inspection template to rid of the paper system. I have been trying to push using the Issues feature, but it’s not quite baked in a way that makes it a proper replacement. They should be very fast to report, provide understandable and consistent information, not add complexity to managing, and be differentiated from Actions. I’m sure we’d think of more ideas once we started using issues, but I think the things below would push us to start. Some ideas below:Issues Category Settings A category option to require adding the site. This allows for proper access, automated notifications, and filtering the list. Require "Site" in actions + bulk assign actions to sitesNew

Standalone action visibility is set to “Site” for us so everyone at a site can see all actions associated with their site. The problem is that Site is frequently not added to Actions. It would be nice if there were some changes to facilitate this:A setting to require Site (perhaps by action label) A setting to allow one to bypass that setting for personal actions that they don’t want/need others to see (or perhaps tied to an action label) In the blue bar that appears at the bottom when you multi-select more than one action on the listing, an “Assign Site” button so we can attach the same site to many Actions at once.Currently, I have to open each Action one by one and add the Site, go back to the list, and open the next. It’s very tedious.

Ability for users with "Data management" permission to change template ownerNew

I am frequently running into problems with changing the template owner.As a user with “Admin” and “Data Management” permissions to our platform, even I do not have the capability to change the owner of a template. That is a major oversight that Data Management does not provide the ability to change a template owner, considering it comes with the ability to edit, delete, and change access to all templates. Recently, I changed our “user visibility” setting with the new options to restrict users to your site. That adds the “Team” list of users associated to the site for everyone to see in dropdowns when assigning actions and issues or setting up template access, which is must easier and faster for them to find the right people. However, it also means that if they want to change the template owner to someone outside their site, which we do frequently because they make a duplicate template to help a site out who wants a similar template, they can’t. Issues NotificationsNew

I was recently asked by a site management team if they should choose Issues over Actions for “on the floor” reporting. The two look identical with only a few differences (Assets in Actions, Labels in Actions vs. Issue category, recurring Action option, probing questions in Issues, Actions can come from Inspection vs. initiating inspection from Issues). The conclusion was that the notification feature when creating an Issue was powerful, and management can later determine if an Action follow up is necessary. However, Issues notifications has problems:Site is being forgotten because there is no option to require it (either globally or by category). This keeps notifications from happening and prevents access. We know notifications will go out later if you assign a site afterwards, but this isn’t usually caught right away if at all. Document ManagementNew

The platform is starting to become a little better for document management. However, as we grow in use cases and number of inspections, it is becoming a bit of a “paperwork” nightmare perhaps worse than we had when everything was on paper. We have sites struggle with not updating the inspection report title (so they get the default date and name), not using the document number field, not reviewing or archiving inspections, struggling with how to capture revision and review dates (mostly still doing in an offline spreadsheet), extra duplicate or unused templates, and more. I have several ideas together that I think would vastly improve document management.Document Number Current: When duplicating templates, the document number field [number] value continues from the number of the originating template. Group Member Visibility to EveryoneNew

I am frequently asked by management teams of sites, “Who is in XYZ group?” and “Is ABC in the XYZ group?” If the management team doesn’t know, then certainly hourly employees using the platform regularly do not know. I try to name groups logically, but a “Safety” group can be anyone, and “Management” can vary by site, for example. It would be really nice if the “Groups” page was available to ALL users, even if they don’t have group management permission. But instead of giving them any permissions, it would simply show them the groups they are a member of, and it would allow them to see all users that are in that group. Perhaps it is a new “My Groups” tab. I would then no longer have to answer that question, and it would be more transparent so we can be sure the right people are in groups.

External Training Content

Has anyone identified a way to pull in external content into SC Training? I’m not referring to PowerPoints, PDFs, etc. but rather other systems. For example, if you subscribe to systems like KnowBe4, LinkedIn Learning, Open Sesame, etc., it would be great if that content could be added as a course in SC Training natively, so it’s delivered and tracked in one place. I know that some content providers have SCORM exports, so you could use a SCORM slide type and upload it that way. If they don’t, do you just make a “dummy” course with a link to the external content?

Fast User SwitchingNew

For hourly employees that conduct inspections daily, most of them are sharing accounts. They share iPads rather than having one dedicated to every employee. Asking them to go to More to see who is logged in, log out, type a full email address, and type a full password (which they will forget) multiple times a shift would be an unreasonable ask, let alone getting them to do it once a shift if they had their own iPad. A method of fast user switching between specific users on one device would be ideal. This would need to be coupled with the request for a new license type or more inspections for Lite users (Pay as you grow with Lite seats | Community (safetyculture.com)). It would be unreasonable to purchase a Full license for every employee, so splitting that cost up with individual, less costly licenses would be better. The SC app settings would need a toggle to enable fast user switching on that device. Each user who wants to share the device would login to the SC app once for it to s

Template Logic on Site FieldNew

Suggestion: It would be great if Logic was supported from the Site field. Use Uses for Site Logic: We have many cases where questions are site-specific. There are also a large number of templates in which we need a different question with the same text just to change the selected global response set - warehouse team, employees, maintenance team, products, customers, carriers, suppliers, etc. In all of these cases, rather than asking for Site a second time with a regular response set just so we can use logic, we have opted to have multiple templates with those changes “hard-coded.” Problem: This adds a lot of maintenance if we change anything in the template and now have to change 20 of them. It also makes reporting hard because we have to analyze data from each one separately. Coupled with this, we would also need the ability for logic to refer to previous questions, not just the question it is directly added to. Link action to a different question and repeat section questionsNew

We have run into 2 situations where linking existing actions to inspection questions is limited:We want to link existing action items to a different question than the question where it was added the last time the same inspection was conducted. For example, if I have a “new business” question with a linked inspection, the next time I do an inspection with the same template, it will show the action history, and I can choose to “link” a previous open action item to the same question. However, if instead I want to link that same action item to a different question which is for “old business,” I cannot. We want to link existing action items to the same question which is within a repeat section. For example, I have a section called “old business” which is set as repeat and has a single text question for typing the line item so we can click to add as many line items as we need. Additional columns in Users List CSVNew

I regularly export the “User List” to CSV from the “Users” page to see who is actively using their account or verify users by site/group. Sometimes I need additional information to determine seat usage by activity type or troubleshoot device issues. I then need to reach out to my CSM for output she’s able to get. Commenting in Template EditorNew

When building a new template, we often find the need to try different order of questions, question field types, things we need to revisit to change later, etc. When working with someone else to build a template, it’s difficult to provide feedback without directly making the changes or capturing ideas externally. I often have to meet with them live instead, temporarily put comments in the question label, or type up a list of “to do” and “feedback” in a document or Teams to share and/or go back to later. It would be handy if there was a way to add comments to each question in the template editor, showing a bubble of each person’s comments and their name. The owner should be able to delete all comments. This would make editing and collaborating much easier.Having a template revision history would also make this much better so we can see what we had with each publish in case we want to revert or know what someone else changed.

GPS Location on Site (Auto-Select)Not planned

It would be handy if on the “Sites” setup page there was a “locator” tool just like the “location” field of inspections. With that, we could input an address and have it find the address and GPS coordinates, then we could save this to the “profile” of each site. With that location stored on each Site, then during inspections, adding Issues, and adding Actions, when the app sees your GPS location, it could auto-select the “site” based on the location assigned to it. This would be one less thing to click during inspections, Issues, and Actions.

Filter/sort by Site in Group managementNot planned

With the advanced/dynamic site-based rules that are now available throughout the platform, I have been making some companywide groups (particularly for Issue notifications). The challenge is that if I need to know who is in a group from a particular site, I have no way of doing this. I would need to click on each user in the site, click on the Sites tab, then click “back.” This is tedious, hard to remember, and gives me know way to see a complete list. It would be really hand if:The “Groups” page had a toggle on/off column for “Users’ Sites” which showed a list of all the sites the group members are part of on the row for each group. The “Groups” page had a filter for both “users” and "sites” so I could see only groups that specific users are in or groups that have users associated to specific sites. User Visibility "Everyone" Setting to Have Team ListNot planned

While trying to fix a problem that ended up being a bug, we discovered the recently added “user visibility” setting. I changed it to “Users only see members of their sites and select groups they're in.” This turned out to be great because it limits the groups list to groups they are in, and it added a “Team” list of all users at the site they are assigned to. I think this will make people more willing to assign, notify, and share because they are looking at streamlined lists. However, I then have a problem that in some events, a user may need to notify a user at another site, notify or assign to a group at another site, or assign ownership of a duplicated template to someone at another site. Because they can no longer see those groups or users, they cannot. Extracting tabular data from inspections

Has anyone found a good way to extract data from multiple inspections of a specific template into a tabular/grid format?I’ve tried the following, all of which are not very functional:SC Data Exporter (new version with GUI) - This extracts the “inspections” in a CSV file and “inspection_items” in a separate CSV file. However, all question labels and response values are in a single column. You cannot use a pivot table on this due to needing each question label as a filter, row or column, and the response values for those separated out by label. SC Analytics - The “Responses” tab allows you to see a list of inspections for a template. If click export - table as CSV, you get a spreadsheet of the inspections but without the responses. If you click “view responses” you can see charts and breakdowns of the answers for each question. However, I cannot see responses for a question based on the responses of another question - only all answers for each question regardless of how they answered th

Ability to change Schedule owner/accessNew

Currently, when a schedule is created, it is owned by a specific user, and that cannot be changed. That person is the only one who can manage the schedule (make changes, see the missed/overdue status). If that person leaves and the user is removed, the schedule still functions but only admins can make changes to it. There is no way to filter to find all of those schedules because they are not a user in the filter options. They are essentially abandoned, and we have a hard time to look through dozens or hundreds of schedules to find those, then manually update them as admins or to take screenshots of each one so an active user can recreate them.The ideas:Allow a schedule owner the capability to assign edit/view access for that schedule to other users Allow admins to be able to change the “owner” of a schedule and also be able to change access to other users When a user is deactivated or removed, ask which other user you would like to give ownership of the schedule to (in fact, when
