General query for discussion / help.

We are wanting to move our assets on Sc from the QR code to NFC or better.

We are having issues as we work in construction where items are prone to weather and other conditions in use that can render some QR codes ineffective.

We have looked at NFC tags but need feedback from the community on other ways to utilise technology with methods such as NFC.

We used some NFC tags but basically had to tap on then with some part of your phone / device and this worked intermittently.

Does anyone have a tried and tested method that will make this easier.

The goal is to be stood near the equipment and then be able to pick it up without having to locate a QR code. If this can be done from distance the this would be safe and more effective especially in poorer conditions and would be much safer.

Again. The challenge is for the community to feedback.

Any assistance would b appreciated.

Hi Jonnyg

We have been playing around with a variety of NFC tags, there are a lot of variables. We have cable tie NFC tags which we are trialing in the Pilbara at the moment and they seem to be working fine.  There are a lot of variables when it comes to the tags, and also the readers or phones.

What type of NFC tags have you trialed to date? Have you been using passive tags only, and anti-metal?

Would be good to know more about what you are doing and what you have been using. If you like you can contact me directly via email at hayden.pope@cuesolutions.com.au .
