While we are already using QR codes to validate the checks that happen on all major equipment as well as patrols carried out, it can be difficult to scan the QR codes in a timely manner when there are so many variables to them being scanned. These variables include, but are not limited to, low lighting of an evening and the cameras used not focusing.
There are many benefits to having an NFC compatibility to Safety Culture as checks can be done quicker meaning a more efficient workforce, low or high levels of lighting won’t affect the use, and they can be scanned without the need of a camera. NFC’s also have the ability to be rewritten which means that there is no need to reprint a QR code if something changes which can lead to wastage from paper etc.
