Improvement to communicating with external reports in issues

Related products:Issues

Benj

Hello! Does anyone know if there is a way to communicate with someone who has raised an issue through Safety Culture? For example, someone uses a QR code to raise an issue but its taking longer than expected to rectify and I want to let them know that it is still in hand. Or to notify someone that the issue they have reported has been resolved? I know I can use their contact details to contact them (if they have been included) but it would be good to have it recorded on the issue that the reporter has been contacted. Thanks everyone!

Hi @jackihann

Thank you for your reply!

The QR code is a great tool as a matter of convenience and we love that it can be used by anyone without the need to download an app. Most issues get reported to us by people quickly scanning the code with their smart phone and it is those people we are looking to communicate better with. We are on the premium plan and the majority of the organisation are now guest users of Safety Culture however many are understandably reluctant to download a work related app to their personal devices.

We’ll have to get better at sending emails to those who have raised issues using the QR code and a bit of additional training for those who don’t leave their contact details wont hurt either. Thanks for your help!

Hey @Benj 👋

As people who report issues via QR codes are not actually users in SafetyCulture, the methods you’ve outlined there (using their contact details) is already the best way to notify them.

Understandably, it’s not the best experience, which is why inviting users who frequently report issues to your organisation as users might be something to consider :) if your organisation is on the Premium Plan or Enterprise Plan, you can place them in guest seats at no additional cost.

Hope that helps!

No worries @Benj! I think there’s definitely an opportunity for the flow to be improved as well when communicating with external reporters, so I’ll go ahead and convert this post to an idea to keep it on our Product team’s radar :)

Thanks for sharing!
