Some of our teams have very robust policy information to attach to specific questions. It is unwieldy to have all of it visible as an instruction following each question and would ideally only be visible if the user manually selects an option to display it.
The workaround we’ve been using is to have an additional answer option called View Policy that will display the instructional text when selected, but that requires the user to go back and select their actual response. As expected, this leads to a good amount of user error, so we added a flag to the View Policy option that reminds them to change their answer at the end of the inspection. But this still isn’t the cleanest workflow.
My vision of how it could work would be something like this:
- In the template question configurator, next to Add Logic/Required/Multiple Responses/Flagged Responses, add another option for Add Policy
- This would open a field similar to the Instruction type question where text/media could be entered (ideally rich text)
- When performing an inspection, the users would see an additional icon or available option to View Policy next to questions with policy information attached
- Policy information is then only displayed when the icon/option is selected and closed when the user closes it manually, or perhaps when they select their answer for that question
Totally open to other thoughts on this idea, but having this available would really help clean up our forms and inspection workflow.
