Multiple Users / Co-Working same inspection simultaneously

We have large inspections where it would be EXTREMELY helpful if two (or even more) users could update reports simultaneously.

YES - conflicts could arise and it would have to be done with caution, however I’d recommend the following:

The app should only record data to fields/items that the user has CHANGED.  This way, one user can work on a specific section or set of questions while another user could handle different ones… then both save to the same report without issue.

IF both users complete the same field/question, the last to save would overwrite the previously entered data.

Hey @Ryan T - thank you for the post!

This technically can be done at this point in time; however, the traceability behind who has done what and who is currently doing what is lacking. We do plan to uplift this in future. What some of our other customers have done is separate which section needs to be done by Person A, Person B, Person C etc. and have them all work on it at the same time, to offer a clear delineation of work. Is this something that could suit your needs?

We do this regularly. As Karen mentioned, it’s best to have sections or pages for each person so they don’t overlap on the same questions.  However, I can confirm that it saves by question. If the same question is changed by both people, the last person to make a change “wins.”  The only downside to how it works now is that if you scroll up or go back to the page where the other user is making changes, you won’t see their updated answers unless you close and re-open the inspection. It doesn’t refresh the answers live - only posts them.  In cases where we need to see if they answered it, how they answered, or merge in additional details into their answer, this causes a problem (for example - supplier audits).  It also doesn’t do well with tracking changes by both people as Karen also mentioned.

Thank you so much for the responses - I had tested it out with both the app and on desktop simultaneously, which didn’t seem to work… I failed to test on the app with two apps.  I will try again!
