I’d like to be able to exclude certain users from training analytics. I still need them to be part of certain groups/sites so they can access other features, but they don’t need to complete certain training so need them excluded from analytics by group/site.

Hey @sampop, that’s a really interesting idea. Thanks for sharing.

Any chance you could describe to me why the specific people might be excluded from the training, and how they are identified?

We are considering a few features later this year on our course management roadmap which might be applicable to your use case.

Enrolment rules where you can assign training to a users based on user attributes e.g. assign WHS where

  • location [is] Australia
  • job title [is not] manager

The other feature we are also considering is ‘self enrolment’ where you can make a course mandatory for a group and optional for the rest of the company.

These board posts are really valuable insight, appreciate you taking the time!

Hi Joyce,

In our case we have two types of users we want to exclude:

  • We have each of our sites set up as a user with a full licence - this is logged in on a shared device and anyone can complete checklists and submit incident reports via the “site login”. Our team members who need to complete training are set up with Lite seats.
  • We have users who don’t necessarily work at the sites, but need access to view things and be able to be assigned actions e.g. maintenance team, admin

Ideally we would want to have a tick box or attribute we assign to the users we don’t want included in training stats.

It seems that the permissions between ‘training’ and the rest of the Safety Culture functionality are a bit contradictory or complicated. E.g. if I want a manager to be able to sign off a practical assessment, I need to have them assigned to the site overall, be in a certain group AND be made a manager of that site in the training section.

Thanks for reading my feedback.

Thanks Sam,

We definitely recognise that there needs to be more flexibility in the permissions required!
