Hey all

When building inspections, you can add ‘instructions’ as an item, but I find this is sometimes a little overkill and bulks out inspections when its not always needed. Which is where my idea for tooltips or question tips comes in.

If we had the ability to add question tips where needed to inspection questions, this would make inspections cleaner. Each question could have a ? icon if a question tip was added to that question. Pressing that icon would reveal the ‘question tip’ giving the user some information about what the question is asking maybe with the option to include an image to reference against if needed for the question. These question tips, wouldn't need to show on results.

Hi @wbd-danw,

Thanks for the feedback and the excellent suggestion! We’re increasingly hearing similar requests, especially for frontline workers using mobile devices or handling repetitive inspections, where only newer team members might need that reference. I’ll make sure to log this into our system and follow up once the team has had a chance to review and take action.

Let me know if you have any additional thoughts in the meantime!

Hi,

I have posted a very similar idea a while ago.

Hi @JJV - great point. The instruction field can be used and hidden within logic as a workaround. Thanks for responding :)

I have often used logic “is not selected” so the instruction field appears below the question until they answer the question, at which time the instruction field hides automatically.  I could see the benefit of an option you could toggle on an instruction field to attach it to the next question as a “tooltip” so it hides automatically and places itself as a question mark on the next question instead.  When the inspector clicks the question mark, the instruction field appears above it.
