In Site we are currently using Region and Site, but we could do with a layer below sites, “Depts”, This would enable us to group our employees together in their respective depts/functions.

We could then link this to permissions so they can only view things applicable to their dept, it would be easier for staff in them depts to view just their assets and inspections and minimise seeing forms from other depts that they will never use

Hi Dalton 96,

You should try use the groups for this, the setting that is below the site.

my example at our company, being theatres, you have

area- the town the theatre is located ( due to some of them having 2 venues in the same town)

site - the name of the theatre

group - the department they work in

So my theatre is

London

Beck

Beck Operations. Beck Technical. Beck Front of House. Beck Hospitality.

following this using permissions you can set hierarchy with in the staff .

As the Technical Manager and a senior manager I am in the Beck Operations. The setting and permissions are to see all templates, inspections, assets along with myself being the administrator seat.

Other users that are placed in the group for Technical ,Front of House and Hospitality are only able to see a template that the group they are in have permissions for so Technical can only see the Fire Equipment Check Template and all the inspection, but the FOH  will not see that but will see the Ice Cream Fridge Temp Check Template and all the inspection but Technical will not.

This has worked well over the 8 years as a user and is rolled out in 15 different theatres within the group as a whole.

Hope this helps..
