Support links (URLs) in assets (to places like cloud storage)

The ability to have a links onto assets for instance to link to cloud storage for the asset would be really helpful.

We have contractors do servicing for assets we have in our system, they provided us with a document which outlines what they have done. This document can sometimes outline over 300 assets and having to upload that document to all the assets is very time consuming, we also have to upload it to our cloud storage systems which we can generate links for folders or individual documents.

Having the ability for safety culture to have a section or the ability in documents to add links would be really helpful as it would mean when setting up the asset we could add the link for the folder where we store the documents, and when some needs to access it in safety culture they just need to clink the link and it opens the folder location in the browser or file explorer etc.

Hi @swhite

We have considered links on an asset profile. We just haven’t got to it yet. But yes it is something we want to do.

In terms of a document management system, we’re currently working on a solution here.

I’ve shared this thread with the product manager who is looking into this now. He has just joined Safetyculture and hasn’t got an Community profile set up yet,  so I can’t tag him here, but he will probably reach out to you when he gets up and running.

Cheers,

Duncan
