Steuart Fotheringham

Hi all,

I like the new credentials section. As Safety Culture is mainly a compliance platform, why is there not an equivalent for compliance issues - eg regular gas safety inspections, kitchen extraction deep cleans, passenger lift inspections etc that can be created for each site with reminders, ability to upload certificates, assignation of tasks to complete. These would be compliance inspections primarily (but not exclusively) completed by 3rd party contractors. I think this would be a really useful addition.

Many thanks

Steuart

Hi @Steuart Fotheringham

Thanks so much for your idea. I’d love to learn more.

By way of introduction my name is Bec and I’m a Product Manager at SafetyCulture. I’m actually looking into how we can better support contractors on the platform so I’m especially interested in how you’ve mentioned most of those inspections would be completed by contractors. My team is also responsible for the new credentials feature.

Can I check if I’ve understood correctly?

  • Essentially each site would have certain inspections that need to be completed on a particular cadence. Examples: Regular gas safety inspections, kitchen extraction deep cleans, passenger lift inspections etc
  • Ideally reminders would be sent out ahead of time to remind those at each site to complete these? (Do you know who specifically would need to complete or just anyone at those sites?)
  • Each site would then have a record of the completed inspection stored against them along with any tasks that may need to be completed as part of those inspections.
  • And the cycle would continue for the next set of scheduled inspections associated with a site.

So it would almost be as if each Site has a set of criteria and we would need a way of knowing if that criteria has been met (scheduled inspections completed) and if all corresponding actions have been rectified?

Hopefully I’ve understood. But also, how do contractors come into play? Would you expect they would be within the organisation and assigned to a certain site?

Looking forward to hearing back from you and getting some more details! Thanks so much.

Hi Bec,

Thanks for your response, yes you’ve got it exactly.

Re reminders - this would be set by the account owner - eg set to maintenance, general manager, chef etc

i don’t think contractors would need to come into play in terms of having access in SC, but if SC could email contractor and encourage them to make an appointment to complete the task, then that would be pretty awesome!

best,

Steuart

Interesting. It actually sounds like we have all the pieces for this but what we need is better visualisation on a site so you can see scheduled inspections & tasks on a site in one place. (Not sure if you use Assets but I’m thinking something similar to the asset profile)

The bit I’m still a bit unsure about is the contractor part - are they actually just completing the outstanding tasks?

E.g. if the regular gas safety inspection brings up an issue, a task would be assigned to a plumber to come and look at it and fix the issue?
