A simple document register, managed by alerts, review and assigning to people. This could include anything from risk assessments, to process flows and procedures, used during audits, internal and external, revision control and view only to ensure people only see what they need to.

I’m excited to say we’ve begun work on bringing document management to the SC platform. This will include the ability to save files, manage versions, arrange in folders and manage permissions.
In your post you mention alerts, review and assigning to people - can you share some more on what this is and how it could help what you’re trying to achieve?

Thank you for the reply, its very good to see that this has been looked into and the wheel is in motion.
The review part of document control is to prompt the review of documentation to ensure its still up to date and effective, we are in a forever changing environment in manufacturing, internal audits, supplier audits and accreditation audits. The idea would to set for example a 3 month review period of documents to use in a risk management approach to prove the review of effective processes.
The assigning, would be a clear indication the owner of that process, again, to use during audit purposes, and also with staff movements of new or old, being able to assign a person the responsibility of a process or procedure.
IATF 16949 the world automotive standard dictates ownership of a process and management support, this could be demonstrated with the correct structure of document control, albeit processes, procedures risk analysis, even supplier agreements, contracts in time , would be a fantastic too, then having files hid away on shared drives.

It would be great if I could load all of our corporate documents onto the Document Register, and then as part of a template have the ability to select the document from the library and link it. For example, we use SafetyCultre to investigate accidents, and it would be fab to pull any relevant Risk Assessments into that investigation. A great addition to this would be to suggest edits be made to the documents.
