How do you use Heads Up to engage with your team?

Hi Keiran, Stay tuned on examples, we’re still in the discussion stage and will be prototyping it soon - I’m not sure what it’ll look like yet, but I’m thinking of a quick video along with a PDF one-page doc to amplify details of the topic at hand.  We’ve found that these quick videos are extremely effective, though I’d LOVE to have a four minute limit on them!  That API JSON looks like it’s got everything we’d want, but the problem with the API (at least into Power BI) is that it takes far too long to import all the data (probably a first run only kind of situation), to the point that we can’t use it with BI (I’ve got a couple of folks over in Ireland who use it with Tableau).  We’re talking hours to import our data set, and honestly we’ve never actually been able to do it successfully.  We currently use the exporter and point a SQL server to my local drive where the export lives (much thanks to Roby for the wizardry on that one).  Is there a way to set the import only to grab the Hea

Does anyone here use inspections to drive compliance within their company?

@Matt Gregory - sounds like we are using the tool for very similar purposes.  One of the things we have seen is that sites that ‘find things to fix’, with broad participation and which use their data - have better safety results. @Jason Wilson - Definitely, and that mindset is pervasive once established.  In our case, the Good Catch/Good Save program was the first major policy/program upgrade I brought to the team, and once they took hold of it and owned it as their own, it was a lot simpler to implement different safety initiatives to better support our field folks.

How do you use Heads Up to engage with your team?

Hi Keiran,We’re currently using Heads Up to communicate issues and lessons learned, but I agree that this feature has a lot of potential.  Last year we also started using it to get time-sensitive info to the right parts of our team for a few natural disasters and that proved mighty valuable, especially with some of the weather events we had around the world.  We’re looking to start sending our toolbox talks out via Heads Up here in the next few months (pilot program starting here in April).  It’s been on our list for a while - quick video with an accompanying write-up to reach the team directly instead of using templates - it’s easier to set up, send, and track.Speaking of tracking/compliance, one thing I’d love to see is the Heads Up data coming through the exporter pipe (or API to BI once that becomes more useful).  The Heads Up manager has great info on it, but it all stays in the system’s analytics and for those of us using the exporter to connect with BI or Tableau (or other means

Does anyone here use inspections to drive compliance within their company?

Hi Droids,Our current use case centers on compliance in the HSE realm while our operations folks have really embraced using the platform for more mission-focused inspections and qualifications support.  Beginning last year, we dug into key elements of our leading KPI’s, specifically JHAs, toolbox talks, and hazard ID reporting (Good Catch/Good Save).  Based on those alone and combined with improvements in data export and presentation, we started to focus on improving compliance in these areas to see if there was a concurrent decrease in incident occurrence and real or potential severity (long story short, the inverse correlation presented beautifully about three months after we went live with our reporting system).  These days, we are starting to tie answers within a specific daily template (a company-specific personal hazard assessment for general conditions) to various aspects of compliance, namely higher-level risk assessments and PPE use.  We can essentially see who needs to be doi

Hi All,Also arriving fashionably late!I’m in the midst of expanding my role as Director of HSE for Bureau Veritas North America, where I have previously worked with the SC team and one of our business units for the past year.  We’ve evolved our interaction with the platform to improve in several key areas, chief among them our incident reporting/management protocols and hazard assessment/mitigation tools.  We’ve also vastly expanded our reporting capabilities via the exporter in concert with Power BI so that our decision-makers have access to real-time actionable information for both compliance and proactive risk reduction purposes.I’m based out of Florida but our group has global reach, operating in over 50 countries (and growing) across 18 time zones.  We’re constantly working to improve and I look forward to learning from the group as we collaborate!
