In this release, you can now:

  • Pre-select specific templates to link to an issue category. Anyone that then reports an issue with that category can easily start an inspection using the chosen templates.

What you’ll love about this new functionality

When issues are reported, the next step towards resolution is often to complete an inspection. Linked templates allow you to pre-select relevant templates for different issue categories to take the guesswork out of which inspections need to be conducted when reporting an issue.

After an issue has been reported in a category and you start an inspection from that issue, these linked templates will appear first to guide you in the process.

By linking templates to issue categories, you can:

  • Get the information you need to resolve issues: By linking the most relevant templates to an issue category you can ensure that the reporting of an issue is supported with the level of detail needed to ensure it can be acknowledged and actioned efficiently.
  • Remove the guesswork: Linked templates are shown first when a user starts an inspection from within an issue. By linking required templates, you can help your team to follow a defined process when reporting issues.

Thanks - I really like this functionality. It would be better if this comes to mobile soon, and also if we can enforce a template to be added.


Hi @gary.thistlethwaite, thanks for your reply and glad to hear you’re liking the functionality. I will pass on your suggestion about enforcing template completion to our Issues team. 

Regarding mobile access, the ability to configure which templates are linked to an issues category is web only but once linked they are surfaced for users reporting issues in the mobile app as well.
