Would it be possible to add site drawings to the sites, so when undertaking an inspection we can drop a pin onto a drawing to show the exact location of the hazard, so users also have a visual location rather than room number or area
This sounds really interesting
Do you currently have 1 template you use across all sites? Or a templates per site?
And how would your team want to access that information of where you dropped the pin?
We currently don’t have a feature that let’s you do this. You could add a specific question in your inspection to upload media, and use the annotation feature to mark on the photo where the issue is. This workaround would require your team to have the site plans on their phones and upload them each time, which is definitely slower than your suggestion above, but is something you can do today.
If you had a Template per site, you could use the Annotation Question to pre-load the corresponding site plan as well. Means a bit more up-front organisation, but your team wouldn’t need to manually upload the plan each time.
Hi
Thank for your reply and comments. We have multiple templates that are used across multiple sites. We have used the annotation question for one site that has its own individual template, but it was more of when we have the same report used on multiple sites and the end users doesn’t always have the option of uploading site drawing from there device or the site drawings are in a PDF format that can’t be annotated.
As for accessing the location and say pin. If there was a question of say “Site Drawings” and then this was linked to drawings that have already been uploaded and saved to each site. The user would just access these and which one (eg 1st floor) then they could just drop a pin or marker to the exact location of the hazard or defect. Taking this further could the pins or markers be numbered to a defect so if multiple defects / hazards are found on the same inspection they could be tracked back to which defect and location and then at the end of the report the drawing used could be added to the media section showing the floor plan where the pins / markers are located for quick and easy overview.
Thanks for sharing all that
The use-case you are talking about totally makes sense, I’ll make sure we pass this feedback onto the team. We currently don’t have anything planned for this, but it’s always so important for us to hear what could make your life easier as we prioritise the features that are most important to our users around the world.
Please continue to share your ideas and the challenges you face, we love hearing from you.
We would love to have this option too for our QA installation inspections, particularly when it comes to recording data for certified fire door installations. We also use multiple templates across multiple sites. To be able to drop a pin on a fire door position, and have all the information relating to the installation, manufacturer, fire stopping etc. for the ‘golden thread’ would be awesome. It could also be used for snagging/actions which means you could pin the exact location of outstanding/remedial works.
Hi Sally!
Thanks so much for sharing this! Looks like raising actions off the site plan would be really useful for you as well.
I’ll pass this onto the team!
Hi Josh,
This would definitely be something useful for us too. We are currently looking at potentially changing systems, so we are able to drop pins in locations and upload information to then share with our clients.
Hi Bianca
When you say this is under consideration, does that men it is currently being worked on and if so when do you foresee this feature being added?
Thanks
Paul
This feature (pins on drawings) would be a game changer for iauditor. Currently, this features exists in other solutions like Fieldware, Fieldlens, Autodesk Construction Cloud & Insite App (UK).
Having this feature in addition to existing features would add significant depth and clarity for construction professionals and consultants who use and reference plan sets for quality management & NCR and create reports with iauditor.
Many thanks,
Thomas
Hey
This is exciting to see, i would like to see the Drawings being directly pulled from a Site or Asset rather than require the person to take a photo of a drawing.
Any chance that Assets or sites would see some improvements in this area ??
Thanks
