Set the assets a user can select to the location or sites they have access too. thus reducing the list of assets a user has to scroll through when completing an inspection.
Hi blaja414,
Thanks for your feedback. This is Jin from Assets team, site-based access on assets is on our roadmap, we are in the early phase to do product research and investigations. We are particularly interested in the area when assets move from one site to another , or one project to another, how does this change apply to the permission on assets. For example, when asset is moved from site A to site B, can users from site A retain access to the asset? how about the past inspections on the asset? It will be helpful for us to understand all different use cases.
Before site-based access on assets is available, a workaround for your problem is to add both site and asset question in template, when site is selected, then asset question will show assets linked to the selected site.
Hi
If a user answers the sites question before the asset question then it applies an automatic site filter on the list of assets that they have to scroll through. You can also scan a QR code or barcode in the inspection when searching for an asset, so the person doesn’t have to search for the asset.
Alternatively starting the inspection from the asset profile (via QR code, NFC or finding the asset in the search bar), will pre-fill the asset and site into the inspection.
In terms of site-based access, this is on our roadmap and will happen soon.
Cheers,
Duncan
