Asset location tracking history

Thanks for posting. We are yet to build in asset history by it is on our roadmap of things to do. 

A few questions for clarity. Are you using the Sites feature to set up your business locations, so being able to see when the asset was on Site A vs Site B?

Or are you you using the word “sites” in the generic context here and recording the asset location during an inspection and wanting to see that in a feed?

Hi,

We are a cleaning company and have clients with multiple sites. Over 200 sites to be exact.

We want to be able to track the assets. 

An asset like a floor scrubber might be moved from one site to another site during its lifetime. This might happen if we lose a contract or if we buy new equipment and redeploy the older equipment. 

Great thanks for clarifying. Yes, we’ll be looking at introducing asset history which tracks any changes to the asset details in the near future. 

@Duncan Heuer  - Hi there, we are a construction company with a number of owned assets e.g. transformers and fire extinguishers which we send to sites for the duration of each project and then return to our office. We are exploring the asset registers currently and ideally need a way to both quickly edit the site an asset is assigned to in its asset field, and to view these changes in asset site allocation in the asset activity box or similar on the asset record.

The good first step would be just to make the edited changes to an asset’s Site field viewable on the asset record but still have to do that by editing an asset. However what would be event better is an ability to make an inspection response type which effects the asset’s assigned Site (this would go in the New Location of Asset response type), so that we could complete the following inspection as part of the asset movement process between sites and our head offices. The process steps would be:

START PROCESS

1. Assets transported from head office to site.

2. Assets unloaded at site, each asset QR scanned and an ‘Asset Move’ inspection completed

3. Asset register updates with new locations of inspected assets, and asset movement history shows on asset record.

END PROCESS

We would greatly appreciate such a development though recognise it is a bit complex.

Thanks for the detailed insights into what you’d like to see in the product. This is really useful as we are having discussions at the moment about how develop features that support this use case.

We want to build more connections between inspection questions/answers that can change the information on an asset. We also plan to link assets to users in the system, and bring in an asset history, so you can see things like status changes, traceability and understand utilisation. 

Hopefully we can have a chat soon as we build prototypes and get your feedback.
