Harsh environment sensors are designed to withstand extreme conditions like high temperatures, pressures, and corrosive atmospheres. They differ from standard sensors by using robust materials, sealing against contaminants, and resisting mechanical stress. When selecting or designing such sensors, factors like environmental conditions, reliability, accuracy, cost, and certifications must be considered.

Hi, @johnalbert

Thanks for sending over a question about sensors! When we are selecting sensors we take into account a number of things, these can be the usability of a device, how it powers on, performs and, of course, the build quality. We are in the process of onboarding new device types every 3 months of so and it is often a particular use case or challenge we are trying to solve (on behalf of our customers) that dictate the direction we go. With that said, can I ask what led to your question? Is there a device you’re looking at or an industrial version of an existing sensor that you’d be interested in?

Chances are, we are already looking at a device or know of something that can help automate your internal processes!
