Hi there,

Just wondering if it would be possible to configure the settings in Training so that courses could be assigned to individual users as well as groups and sites. Additionally, if there is not already, would we be able to set up something where certain users could be notified of a trainees course progress/completion via email as opposed to just through the analytics.

Cheers :)

Hi @Christien Barber 👋🏼

To address both points in your post:

  1. Indeed, assigning courses to individual users is not possible right now, but it is actually something we want to look into next year, so stay tuned!
  2. There’s no way to be notified of training progress/completion from users right now, but we’ll soon be releasing API feeds for course completion, which can be used for an integration to achieve that.

Thank you for sharing these ideas! Keep them coming 🚀

I agree that while “group” and “site” assignment are probably going to be the most used options, there are times when only one person needs to be assigned a course.  Perhaps they have a specialty, unique position, want to learn something specific outside of their role, or need to catch up on old training they missed perhaps because of vacation or being a new employee.

Under considerationPlanned feature

Hey @Christien Barber , I’m super happy to say that we are rolling out this feature!

It’s rolled out to about 50% of our customers as of today, and we should reach 100% of our customers my next week.

Quick Query?

How will / can this be envisaged to work with companies that have bona-fide contractors who in the supply chain really need some form of training or the inspections and issues part of the system identifies a training gap.

We are looking at extending and proving our supply chain and at some point this will require ALL interactions and personnel at some point irrespective of who they work for.

Hi @jonnyg,

I’ll be making a few assumptions here but below is what I’ve heard from a number of customers.

Particularly for contractors, I see the following workflow:

  1. New/returning contractors needs to complete a site induction upon arrival
  2. Contractor scans a QR code (via an enrolment link COMING SOON)
  3. They can register their details (or log back in) and are enrolled to the required training (so that you can track this). I’d recommend using the certificate feature so they can show you this if you need to proof for a site pass.

The enrolment link means the admin doesn’t need to assign users in the backend and can present the QR code as a just-in-time scenario.

Is that what you’re envisioning? Let me know if I’m misunderstanding the use case.

Commercially, some of the team are going to have a credit based system to allow contractors to take required training as a one-off (so you don’t have to pay a monthly lite/full seat). Also coming in the later half of the year. For the time being, you’ll need to utilise a lite seat.

Kind of but a little bit more below the surface.

  • Regarding external training certs
  • Internal verified training
  • TBTs
  • Briefings
  • Permits
  • RAMS acceptance and communication
  • Signing in and out of the project via an app enabled system at a portal at the project site (hours etc)
  • The above then links to hours generally
  • Also hours for AFRs - Accident Frequency Rates
  • Template design to incorporate - Companies
    • Hence a contracting company - is on site
    • Working Safely - Unsafely
    • Observed and linked back to the company - Ref KPIs.
    • Template design to incorporate - Companies

  • Team communications to companies and contractors
  • Analytics and label expansion
  • Investigation link to companies

I can go on and on.

As i have raised before my concern relates to COST

On a Project we may have 10 companies that have 1-20 people each and this varies.

Whether we take the cost or they do, it is a massive burden because generally contractors in construction make up 93-98% of total personnel on projects.

Also the link to having bespoke PQQs, reviews with contractors etc and gateways for trades that basically create barriers dependant upon the activity.

Example crane drivers - specific licenses required - hence cannot start without these being valid…

Hope that is a flavour of my view of Contractors parse…

Cheers - and Sta Safe Jonny.

STAY SAFE - Typo

Hey team,

Happy to let you know that the ability to assign individual users is live for all customers!

We’ve also changed the default to ‘assigned to no users’ new courses created (lots of feedback about this)

Thanks to the wonderful community for your feedback!

Is there any other way rather than paths to do the following.

New employees.

Do a company introduction (SC training)

Then have timed course over a set period in sequence.

In simple term. A new person starts with the company. Completed introduction and then must complete sequential courses over a given period?

I have seen paths but want to ensure we can enforce and monitor this to ensure the new employee stays on track.
