Is there a way to create a blanket template for a report layout? For example, I would not need to access an inspection template to create the report layout I can just have it created somewhere else and be able to select a drop down menu. That way when my organization requests a layout update, I can just update the template for the report and not have to go into each inspection to update their report layouts.

You can do this today. 

  1. Even without creating a test template, you can create a default report layout and select that layout for all inspection templates. When you ‘edit’ and ‘update’ the report layout, it will ask you if you want the changes to be saved for all templates or just that template (see screenshot). You can update the report layout by going into any inspection template. 
  2. Alternatively, if you do want to create a Test Template, you can create one and name it appropriately and set up your report layout from that template and use the same layout across your actual inspection templates

Ah I see! My issue was I just needed to create a new template, instead of trying to edit an existing one.
