Query.

We are looking at building some templates that lead into giving more generic info to people with field that are pre filled and editable.

However i have been informed after some time with SC advisors that this is not possible?

Scenario.

We have a scope of works that we do across many areas of the business.

The scope may relate to various activities.

These activities generally could be classed as semi generic in that they may follow a similar process.

However dependant upon the activity there maybe variations or some things do not apply.

How to fit a light bulb

Materials Needed:
Replacement light bulb (ensure it matches the specifications of the old bulb)

Ladder or step stool (if the fixture is out of reach)

Steps:

  • Turn Off Power: Ensure the light switch is in the "off" position to avoid any electrical shocks.

  • Let the Bulb Cool Down: If the bulb has been on, wait for it to cool down before attempting to remove it.

  • Remove the Old Bulb:

  • Screw-In Type: Gently twist the bulb counter clockwise to unscrew it.

  • Bayonet Type: Push the bulb down slightly and twist it counter clockwise until it releases.

  • Prepare the New Bulb: Unbox the new bulb and ensure it’s the correct type and wattage for your fixture.

  • Install the New Bulb:

  • Screw-In Type: Align the base of the bulb with the socket and twist it clockwise until it’s snug but not overly tight.

  • Bayonet Type: Align the pins on the bulb with the slots in the socket, push down slightly, and twist it clockwise until it locks into place.

  • Turn the Power Back On: Flip the light switch to ensure the new bulb is working.

Removing the Wheel whilst stranded on a motorway

Safety First:

  • Turn On Hazard Lights: Immediately turn on your hazard lights to alert other drivers.

  • Move to a Safe Location: If possible, try to drive to the nearest exit or service area. If you can't, pull onto the hard shoulder as far to the left as possible2.

  • Turn Wheels to the Left: Turn your wheels to the left (towards the hard shoulder) to prevent the car from rolling into traffic if it's hit.

  • Exit Safely: Exit the vehicle from the left side, away from traffic. Move yourself and any passengers to a safe location behind a barrier2.

Removing the Wheel whilst stranded on a motorway

  • Engage Parking Brake: Ensure the parking brake is engaged to prevent the car from moving.

  • Loosen Lug Nuts: Use a lug wrench to loosen (but not remove) the lug nuts on the wheel you need to change.

  • Lift the Car: Use a jack to lift the car off the ground. Place the jack under the vehicle's frame near the wheel you're changing2.

  • Remove Lug Nuts and Wheel: Fully remove the lug nuts and then the wheel.

  • Replace with Spare Wheel: Align the spare wheel with the wheel bolts and push it into place.

  • Tighten Lug Nuts: Hand-tighten the lug nuts, then use the lug wrench to fully tighten them in a star pattern to ensure even pressure.

  • Lower the Car: Carefully lower the car back to the ground using the jack.

  • Fully Tighten Lug Nuts: Once the car is on the ground, fully tighten the lug nuts again to ensure they are secure.

So using the above as examples i want to build a custom template with logic in it so that from a list of scope activities i can choose what is part of the scope (pre - built and populated)

From there when a person (user) complete the inspection they choose the items for example in the scope that are relevant. Each one then as a generic method of what is normally required.

They then amend as required for the specifics of the intended works.

I have been told that this can be done in Power-Automate / Sharepoint etc via Safety Culture.

My own concern is that I would prefer it is within the system so the capability to build templates in the manner i have explained.

IMO it makes sense, saves time and really makes things simpler for companies /projects and activities where most of the scope is there but when chosen there maybe variations with…

  • Who is doing it
  • Where it is being done (near open water - lets say)
  • When it is being done
  • Materials
  • Design limitations
  • Access and egress issues

And so on.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If anyone can shed any light on other ways etc that are tried and tested it would be appreciated?
