Suggestion: It would be great if Logic was supported from the Site field.

Use Uses for Site Logic:  We have many cases where questions are site-specific.  There are also a large number of templates in which we need a different question with the same text just to change the selected global response set - warehouse team, employees, maintenance team, products, customers, carriers, suppliers, etc.  In all of these cases, rather than asking for Site a second time with a regular response set just so we can use logic, we have opted to have multiple templates with those changes “hard-coded.”

Problem: This adds a lot of maintenance if we change anything in the template and now have to change 20 of them.  It also makes reporting hard because we have to analyze data from each one separately.

Coupled with this, we would also need the ability for logic to refer to previous questions, not just the question it is directly added to. Otherwise, the feature is limited to only what we want to ask directly after the site question, which is really the wrong place for many of them to be.  Having logic refer to other questions’ answers opens up a huge amount of possibilities.  We can better organize questions in the right flow rather than grouping to those driven by logic off one other question.  They end up being in the wrong order and confusing.  Or we end up asking the same thing multiple times.  That idea is separately posted here Support triggering logic fields from previous questions in inspections | Community (safetyculture.com)

Hi Corey thanks so much for your beautiful articulation of the impact that being able to have logic functionality linked to sties would have. This is a complex item but something we do get strong signal for and something we’d love to be able to tackle in the future. Watch this space!

Looking forward to the possibility. It could make it possible to have companywide standard templates, rather than one per site.  It would need to be coupled with “logic on previous questions” to be completely useful.

We have occasions where the site has not been added to our master site list. The engineer performing the inspection selects ‘My site is not listed here’.

We want t run logic that if this is selected, we trigger an action for the new site to be created.

We consider that it is unprofessional to send a report to our customer with the site being detailed as not listed.

One of my biggest gripes and setbacks on this platform currently is this very thing - articulated brilliantly by the author of this post, Corey.

With how our business operates (we are an MSP), we do require this feature to streamline our operations on templates/inspections.

With inspections that we carry out for our clients, this feature would be a game changer - of course, coupled with “logic on previous questions” - as prior mentioned by post author, Corey.
