In the UK, care services are governed by regulatory bodies, and a key element of our governance framework is the ability to identify issues, implement remedial actions, and evidence their resolution.
It would be highly beneficial for the system to include a functionality that allows users to download action plans, specifically highlighting any outstanding actions. Additionally, it would enhance compliance documentation if there were an option to automatically generate and attach an action plan when printing audit reports that contain flagged areas of non-compliance.
This improvement would support services during regulatory inspections, where printed audits are often requested. Having a dedicated action plan summary page—clearly indicating what has been flagged, what actions have been taken, what remains open, and how the audit has been triangulated—would provide transparent evidence of quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Such a feature would not only strengthen our ability to meet regulatory expectations but also streamline the inspection process by providing clear and structured documentation.

Actions already show work being done and is tracking this progress.
You can link(although painfully still at this point) any Actions to an item in an Inspection.
In Actions you can track in Details who and when the work was assigned, also show steps with the ability to add any variety of documentation on said Action.
Where do you propose this Action Plan fits in the current software?
Thank you for the update.
I appreciate that the current Actions module allows for linking to inspection items, assignment tracking, and attaching supporting documentation. However, from a governance and regulatory perspective, particularly under CQC scrutiny, what’s currently in place still feels fragmented when trying to demonstrate a clear and auditable trail of improvement.
My proposal for the Action Plan function is to sit as a dedicated summary view or printable report within the Inspection area itself—essentially a consolidated export of all linked actions filtered by open, closed, and in progress. This would greatly support inspections by providing:
A clear line of sight from issue > action > resolution
Evidence of accountable ownership and oversight
Ability to show progress at a glance, including overdue items
An audit-ready format without needing to manually compile steps
At present, while the links do technically exist, it's not easily presentable in one place without pulling information manually. Having an integrated “Action Plan Export” or “Inspection Action Summary” would reduce duplication, support real-time regulation responses, and strengthen our governance position.
See sample action plan below.

I see what you’re saying now, this is a little bigger than what Safety Culture currently addresses, but it’s a great idea.
I agree that Safety Culture would be a stronger product with the ability to track longer term projects relating to OHS and have items that can be tracked in a “live” manner rather than what we currently see with our Inspections today, once the Inspection is completed, whatever status of the Actions attached to it are saved as is, the reports will ever show their status as it was when the Inspection was completed.
Hopefully the developers agree and take this on. This would expand their service in a big way, but would take a long time to develop.
In the mean time, If you create a special template with these items and then the “status” then keep that open, this could serve your purpose.
Another note, Tables are going to be added soon in a closed beta, what you have here is essentially a table, I’m not sure how the tables are going to work though.
Thank you for explaining this in clear detail, hopefully a developer chimes in.
